Leatrice’s desire to be in accord with reality required unwavering dedication to the exploration of Self. Many experiences throughout the years contributed to her understanding of physical and emotional pain and how to transform it. These insights led to a penetrating understanding of the path of the human, ultimately, to conscious awareness of Consciousness.
Leatrice’s ability to work with individuals and communicate with the public has come from a combination of personal and professional experiences, including lay ordination in 1972 at San Francisco Zen Center and eight years in residence at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center.
Her earliest work experiences were in San Francisco, first as a counselor for incarcerated juvenile girls and later as a social worker for physically and mentally disabled clients. Leatrice was a counselor and meditation teacher in Philadelphia at Malvern Institute, a drug and alcohol treatment facility. In New York City, she continued teaching meditation and pain transformation at various health facilities and Yoga centers.
Leatrice’s offerings span over five decades. She has connected with others through writing (many articles have been published in metaphysical/spiritual magazines – see Published Articles), her early private practice, study groups, and workshops. Her emphasis is always on bringing Self-Knowledge to our everyday lives to awaken to the Truth of our being.
Conscious awareness of Consciousness is everything that has ever happened or will happen present in this very instant. It is the ordinary, extraordinary, ordinary, extraordinary, ordinary. . . It is the extraordinary ordinary. LA
